This catalog describes in detail the works of four Maltese composers (Giuseppe Vella and his four sons--Alberto, Luigi, and Paolo), who directed the musical chapel of the Cathedral of Malta at Mdina, along with that of St. John's co-Cathedral in Valletta. The main part of the more than 700 scores represented is sacred music, although there is also secular music. A brief biographical sketch for each composer precedes the catalog proper. These materials were microfilmed by the Malta Study Center of the Hill Monastic Manuscript Library (HMML).
